Dr. Ronald Bergman has been practicing Ophthalmology in the metro Detroit area since 1993. He was one of the first surgeons to perform the LASIK vision correction surgery in Michigan, and has performed thousands of these procedures over the past ten years. He participated in the original multi- center research which led to the FDA approval of LASIK surgery in the country and has published in national journals. Widely considered one of the areas premier surgeons, he has successfully performed refractive surgery on many of Detroit’s physicians and health care professionals.
Dr. Ronald Bergman completed his medical training at the University of Michigan in 1989. He then trained in Ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital inDetroit, serving as Chief Resident for the department of ophthalmology. He received the H. Saul Sugar Award for excellence in Ophthalmology. He was board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1994. He’s a clinical Instructor with Wayne State University and has helped to train many area physicians. Dr. Bergman has also concentrated his practice on providing state-of-the–art cataract surgery, employing the most advanced techniques to deliver “No stitch”, “Small incision”, painless surgery. This technique is considered the safest, most effective cataract procedure.
