The femtosecond laser eliminates the need for a blade to create the flap and allows Dr. Ronald H. Bergman, M.D. to customize the size, shape and orientation of the corneal flap for each individual eye. This level of customization also allows more patients to qualify for LASIK.
The Star S4 IR Excimer laser uses the WaveScan wavefront to measure and guide the laser to create a more customized corneal shape unique to each eye. This technology is designed to improve the quality of vision during daylight and to prevent problems with night vision. The Star S4 IR laser possesses superior accuracy and speed when compared to older excimer laser systems.
